Fusion Triathlon Club Glasgow
Founded in February 2009, Fusion Triathlon Club is based in Glasgow and has grown to become one of the biggest, and most successful triathlon clubs in Scotland - with over 290 members. The Club has been Junior Aquathlon Champions 2010, 2011 and 2012. The Club won the Senior Triathlon Club Rankings 2012 and was crowned triathlonscotland Club of The Year 2012. This success just inspires us to improve and expand, expect more specific masterclasses with low Coach-Athlete ratios, increased number of locations for training sessions and developments within the Junior section. Our members (46% female to 53% male) have a range of abilities from those who come along to keep fit to Elite and Age-group World Champions.
Now a high profile Olympic sport, triathlon is continuing to grow at grass roots and is the UK’s fastest growing participation sport. Each year sees an increase in TV and other media coverage bringing the sport to the mainstream and with it top athletes such as Alistair Brownlee and Chrissie Wellington. See *New to triathlon* for more information on triathlon.
At Fusion Triathlon Club we offer the best and most inclusive sessions to all of our members. Our mission is to provide the very best coaching service to anyone with an interest in multi-sport or indeed a single discipline. For a more informative look at our training sessions see *Training*
At present we have 11 coaches, all in various stages of their coaching career, an established Consultant Coach (John Dargie of fusion-coaching), qualified Level 2 coaches, Level 1 Coaches working towards Level 2 and newly Level 1 Qualified (Dec 2012). They bring a wealth of experience from converted swimming instructors, coaches and performance cyclists. For more information on our consultant coach and other coaches see *Coaching*
Of our members an excellent 36% of them are juniors (athletes from 8 – 16), we regularly see 60 or more each Sunday morning for the 3 hours specialist junior only training sessions. We maintain a low Coach-Athlete ratio using at least 5 coaches every Sunday morning. For more information on these sessions and our thriving junior section see *Juniors*
Of course, our club is not all about training and racing. We also like to let our hair down and go out for the odd tipple! For more information on our drinking habits see *Social* in the Forum
If you are looking to add regular exercise to your lifestyle routine, or looking to progress yourself forward as an athlete why not come along and try one of our sessions. For further information on why to join us and our new member offers see *Join Us*
We will hopefully see you soon!
